Milford Sound is the most accessible and best known of the glacier-carved fiords, hugely popular with tourists. The Milford Sound Cruise explores the full length of the fiord. Mitre Peak represents a perfect cone from the land, but when viewed from the water is revealed as part of a chain of peaks, a sight most photographers find irresistible.

Cruising the majestic fiord you will be in awe of the sheer size of rock walls plummeting into the black depths of the fiord. Numerous waterfalls add to the majestic ambiance of this wonder of the world.    

Rainfall in the area is one of the highest in New Zealand, but this should not be seen as a deterrent as, rain or shine, each visitor leaves with an experience they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

Wildlife to be seen here includes the Fiordland crested penguin, the blue penguin, seals and dolphins.
